Caring, compassionate, affectionate, masculine, creative, passionate about many things. I teach in a school of medicine (I'm actually a social scientist, not an MD), where I work on global health issues. I spent many years doing research in Mexico and still take groups of students there. I’m fluent in Spanish. But I’m not a central-casting academic. I’m much more playful, well-rounded, down-to-earth -- and definitely sexier. I’m a creative type. My second life is that of a semi-professional choral singer performing more than 20 concerts a year, most of them with a symphony orchestra. Classical music is my passion but I appreciate a wide range of music genres (jazz, folk rock). Other interests? I am actively into volunteering. I enjoy live theater, movies (especially indies and classics), interesting, hand-crafted wines, and gardening. Staying fit has become a major hobby. I lift weights and walk my dog nearly every day. I’m athletic and toned, in better shape and weighing less than when I was in college (149 lbs, 30" waist). I love outdoor activities. Recently I’ve discovered the joys of hiking, cycling, and ocean kayaking. I like to travel to out-of-the-way places and stay in small, romantic inns. I have traveled in Europe, the Far East, and Mexico; would like to visit Italy and New Zealand next. Mendocino in northern California and Kauai are favorite places. Anywhere with a dramatic seascape turns me on. I absolutely love dogs. Mine is Nena, an incredibly sweet Chocolate Labrador Retriever. Together we provide canine therapy for patients in two acute-care hospitals every week. I have a deep romantic streak, which partly explains my joy in making music but also translates very nicely into making love. I’m a great kisser and cuddler, and I also give a great massage. Bringing sexual excitement and joy to my partner is very important to me. I love sex and think I'm good at it, but the touching/cuddling/kissing part of being intimate is just as important to me. I'm emotionally stable, grounded, and very balanced in my lifestyle. I am a very caring, compassionate person. My students know me as a kind, big-hearted guy who will do everything he can to help them realize their potential. I believe seriously in "giving back," hence my active volunteering life. I’m very engaged in public affairs, both professionally and personally. I think you would find me fun to be around (my students tell me that I am, and they're tough critics). I definitely have a playful side. I am passionate about many things. I like to be adventurous and love to try new things. I am confident, happy (except about being single), straight-acting and masculine, warm, affectionate, nurturing, empathetic; a good communicator, an engaging conversationalist, and a sensitive listener. I believe that good communication is the essential glue that holds a relationship together. I have worked hard in recent years to develop my communication skills and believe I've succeeded. Finally, I am close to my family. My brother is gay, lives in the SF Bay area, and since my coming out we have become much closer. I have a sister and mother living in Pennsylvania with whom I remain very close. I have a wonderful, grown-up son who lives in SF. These close family ties are very important to me and, I believe, make me a better person.

Vad letar du efter?

A guy with serious potential to become my soul mate and life partner. I’m only interested in a deeply committed, monogamous LTR. What am I looking for? Someone with whom I can share many new experiences and adventures, who will challenge me in all sorts of ways (and be challenged himself). A playful guy who can appreciate my wry sense of humor. Someone who appreciates romantic gestures and is comfortable with public displays of affection. A guy who loves tender, slow, and passionate sex. Someone who is smart and who puts his intelligence to good use; who is physically fit and active; who is both caring and allows himself to be cared for. Because the arts and physical fitness are so important in my life, my ideal guy would be cool with going to concerts and plays with me and being a regular work-out and/or outdoor activities buddy. If he wants children at home I am totally open to that possibility. I'm mainly attracted to guys younger than myself but flexible on age, as long as a guy is active, fit, eager for new experiences and adventures, and has his emotional act together. I believe that age/difference relationships can be the most interesting and ultimately the most satisfying.
