Trust, acceptance, equality, humour, reliability, respect, conversation. Some common interests help find a starting point but it's the differences which create the real interest. A gentleman, good hygiene, non smoker and good kisser essentials. If you need drugs to have a good time - not interested.
If I said looks weren't important I'd be lying - the packaging always helps but it's what lies beneath the veneer which will sustain my interest. I prefer guys who are height/weight proportionate, around my height or taller, look after themselves (not just physically), not overly hairy. Must be conversant, intelligent, passionate about life, have a young outlook, prepared to treat their inner child to some folly every now and again, around my own age, and have had some life experience.
All this sounds a lot like setting up the selection critieria for a job for which noone will apply. But being the positive guy I am I'm hopeful someone out there is willing to take a risk and jump
