Me describiría a mi mismo como
First, let me say that I am liberal, open-minded, non-fundamentalist but decidedly Christian in my views on things (though I welcome other serious-minded people with other perspectives on life). That's probably the most important thing about me. After that, I am looking for dates, and I'm open to more. I am most usually attracted to in-shape, financially stable guys in their 20s to early 40s (unless you can change my mind on that), who have warmth, humor, sensitivity to others, and intelligence. And who like intense eye contact. And I would REALLY like a reply from somebody who actually took the time to send me an intensely interesting and intelligent message, and whose profile sounded like he had something to talk about.
Anyway, I'm not interested in "hooking up." Sounds like what I used to do with my dad when we were baiting our fishing lines.
Instead, I enjoy sitting with coffee at a street cafe, going to street fairs and flea markets, seeing a movie with someone I can actually talk to about it afterwards, and walking on the beach on an early fall afternoon. Or listening to Enya or Brahms or Sarah Brightman or S&G. Or walking in Riverside Park when the dusk has almost slurped up the afternoon light. Or spending Saturday nights Country-Western two-stepping.
Ok, I do have my quirks... Would you believe that I collect Austro-Hungarian postcards and porcelain, and I give my friends custom-made collages for Christmas? Yes, yes, it's true.
Also, I have an academic background (PhD in Philosophy, Master's in Theology) and I do college teaching and academic writing. So I'm looking for someone whose eyes don't glaze over when I start mumbling about human existence. I try to do more than mumble, however. I'm active in a liberal church (United Church of Christ), and do my best to treat others as I would like to be treated.
