I Would Describe Myself As

I've had the good fortune to travel the world with work meeting amazing people and seeing incredible places where I came away from those experiences becoming a bit more aware of life and the world as getting to know people from other countries only served to broaden my outlook and perspective on the world. But even after 14 years in Florida and 15 years in Southern California, I'll always try to be the kid who grew up in a small Midwest town just outside Chicago. The one thing about the Midwest is the genuine, authentic and sincere people that live there, and if I still have those qualities from growing up there, I certainly don't want to lose those. Life in the Midwest is about keeping things simple and straightforward and not overcomplicating things and that the first rule of problem-solving is that you take care of the people who have been impacted first and then everything else comes afterwards. When they were alive, my parents taught my sister and I that the most important thing in life is how you treat other people and that's what you learn growing up there.
